I have a completely different experience.
I had just been assigned to a new team and some colleagues were saying how bad Scrum was for them and how I could help to bring real improvements.
By coincidence, a new Agile Coach had been hired and we randomly had a conversation by the coffee machine (pre-covid era when everybody was at the office 5 days\week).
He was a strong advocate of Kanban and he explained the methodology. I was intrigued and we scheduled a few more serious meetings later. In a matter of weeks, we decided to go forward with Kanban. It took a few months to realize this was the best decision for the reality of that team.
