Hi Artur, I am very please to see that someone is writing on project management and its roles. I love the article. You are addressing the magic project management triangle: time, cost, quality with dedicated roles, which find interesting. I have a different model in mind, but anyhow, good input. Thanks!

I have the Project Manager as the interface to the stakeholders, thats the same, what you say. But for me the Project Manager is also the master of the timeplan. He must understand, lead the planning and enforce the delivery according to the needs of the project. Therefore he must have experience in order to anticipate and prioritize. Then I have the project management master, who organizes the project and the team. He is the moderator of meetings and the bonding agent for the team who even negotiates conflicts between the project manager and the team. And then I have the architekt oder chief engineer who not only cares about product quality but also ensures the product performance and cares about the technical integration and integrity of the product. Yes, this sounds very agile like, but I want to apply it also in the context of waterfall organized projects. Maybe I write an article on the subject, what do you think?

Definitely, it is worth an article on its own.

For the time plan the I wrote a bit on the Time Manager and constantly asking if the tasks are accordingly to plan or if there are delays.

Your idea of the architect/chief engineer is interesting. In a way performance is a quality metrics. However, having its own spotlight is a good approach overall.

Yes. I have observed, that it creates a conflict of interest with the project manager if he is simultaneously responsible to force staying on time and to deliver performance and quality. Therefor I split this responsibility and add a third person who is the moderator or negotiator, however you like to put it.

You have so many articles, its really hard to read all of them, it will take me some time. Would you mind subscribing to my substack and maybe even recommend it?
